East District XC Report - Sat 8 Dec

10 Dec 2018 by David steel

A handful of DTFC athletes took the long road north to Aberdeen to compete in the East District Cross Country Championships. Amongst some very competitive fields and on one of the toughest courses on the circuit they showed up well and posted some excellent times.

First off in the U13 girls was Ellie Candlish who despite finishing in the bottom half of the field posted an excellent time of 13.37mins for the 3.2km course. The U13 boys race had two competitors from DTFC over the same distance as the girls with David Cuthbert finishing a creditable 39th in a field of 56 with a time of 12.17mins. Mark Harley finished just behind David in a time of 12.53mins.

The U15 races over 4km saw only one DTFC athlete competing and in a very competitive field James Cuthbert posted a very creditable time of 18.12mins.

In the U17 womens section Daisy Cumming produced an excellent time of 21.58mins over the 5.5km course to finish 6th out of 20. Malcolm McLure completed the DTFC representation for the day producing a fine run in the U17 men’s race in a time of 22.0mins.

A hard day for the DTFC athletes but many of them produced decent times amongst some high quality fields.
