Upcoming Cross Country Fixtures - Runners Required

25 Oct 2018 by David steel

The following are details of upcoming cross country fixtures and the club is needing as many runners as possible to take part – this is NOT restricted to middle distance runners and all athletes should consider running XC as part of winter training (Including sprinters !!)
It is a relaxed format – turn up and run ! Everybody that turns up gets to run and we need runners to fill our age group teams.
So please consider giving XC a go !!

• Sunday 4th November – Lasswade XC – Engine Road, Gorebridge. For all age groups. First race is @ 12:30. Registration and race payment (£5 is for Seniors, Juniors may be slightly cheaper) is at Gorebridge Leisure Centre, EH23 4TX. There is ample parking on the other side of the road and it’s a short walk to the course. The course is not very hilly and great for spectators. Spikes or trainers are fine.

• Saturday 17th November – Livingston Open – Dechmont Law Park. For all age groups. First race is @ 11:30. Registration is at the course. Payment of £4 should be done in advance @ www.livingstonac.com. Parking and facilities is at Deans High School, Livingston EH54 8PS. The course is a short walk up from the school into the park – there are no facilities at the course. U11s run 1.3k and U13s run 1.7k, so a nice short course for anyone wanting to give XC a go. Spikes or trainers are fine.

• Saturday 24th November – East District League, Broxburn – For all age groups. First race is @ 12:00. No registration is required, just turn up and run. However, if possible can you collect your club number beforehand – just ask your coach and they will point you in the right direction. Parking and facilities is at Broxburn Academy. The course is a 10min walk up to the start. Please register with the club rep when you get up to the course so we know who is running – just look out for the DTF flag and tent, there will be spare numbers there also. There are no toilet facilities at the course. Spikes or trainers are fine.
